Epoxy Quartet is a project led by pianist and composer Koen Gijsman. In their music, the ensemble combines free improvisation techniques with a lyrical sound and accessible melodies. The band met each other in 2021 at the Codarts jazz master, blending together different nationalities: Finnish, Dutch, and German. The assembly brings an authentic listening experience to their audience: they create their performance on the spot and take a lot of risk, undermining or complementing each other continuously, leading to ever-diverse performances that directly create a strong connection with the audience, which becomes part of the performance and the surprising moments of beauty.
