Noah Myers - guitar
Jordan Proffer - drums
Guillermo Lopez - bass

UNiTy was formed when three University of North Texas students began playing sessions together with the goal of developing original compositions and arranging tunes by composers that they felt were  underrepresented at the university and its surrounding music scene. As they brought in charts, each member’s musical influences began to impact the style and focus of the group, which resulted in a blend of World music, Post-Bop and Gospel that is reflected in their improvisation and repertoire. All three members are highly dedicated artists, bassist Guillermo Lopez being the winner of the prestigious  National YoungArts competition and a semi-finalist in the 2022 UNISA (South Africa) strings competition, drummer Jordan Proffer winning the international Yamaha Young Artists competition and guitarist Noah Myers being one of only 5 finalists and the winner of the Alicia Smietana prize in the international Jarek Smietana Guitar competition. The talented trio strives to continue refining its stylistic vision to focus on the intersection of Brazilian and other world music with the group’s inventive selections of originals and jazz standards.
