Jeff Jarvis - trumpet artist, conductor and clinician
Jeff Jarvis is a multi-faceted music industry professional who maintains an ambitious international itinerary as an S.E. Shires trumpet artist, guest conductor and clinician. Jarvis has been awarded several Global Music Awards and in 2019 they honored him for “Lifetime Contributions to Jazz and Jazz Education”. His solo recordings as a jazz trumpeter have received frequent airplay. Published by Belwin Jazz, UNC Jazz Press, and Kendor Music, Jarvis frequently composes for school, military, professional big bands and pops orchestras. He has over 175 big band works published and has co-authored The Jazz Educators Handbook with Doug Beach, a jazz piano book with Matt Harris entitled The Chord Voicing Handbook, and with Mike Carubia, Effective Etudes For Jazz, Volumes 1 & 2, plus numerous solo, duet and ensemble works. Jeff’s career as a studio trumpeter encompasses over 100 recordings for such names as Lou Rawls, Michael Jackson, Archie Bell & the Drells, and The O’Jays, followed by several recordings as a leader. Live performance credits include Dizzy Gillespie, Louie Bellson, Joe Williams, Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mathis, Slide Hampton, Grady Tate, Rob McConnell, and Doc Severinsen.
